About HANTOP
The Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital HIV Treatment Hub began as a simple testing facility in 2005. Following the results of the tests, we used to refer clients to a neighboring province for treatment. We became a satellite hub after years of undergoing training and mentoring from the Western Visayas Medical Center HIV Treatment Hub. Despite starting with only two employees, we have grown into a full-service HIV treatment center over the course of a decade. Today, our hub is dedicated to serving PLHIV patients from Aklan and neighboring provinces, with a focus on personalized care, stigma reduction, and exceeding expectations.
Our services include HIV pre- and post-test counseling, emergency ARV refills, HIV prevention methods such as Pep and PrEP, and comprehensive ARV management for both outpatient and inpatient PLHIV. We also provide specialized care to PLHIV women, including pap smears. Our assistance extends beyond medical aspects and covers psychosocial and mental well-being of our clients. We tailor our approach to each individual by using various testing modalities such as HIV, RHIVDA, and CD4 counting. Our dedicated case managers aid clients with ART initiation, treatment adherence, and ARV dispensing, as well as ART counseling.

We are committed to addressing all concerns about HIV treatment and services, removing barriers, and eradicating stigma associated with PLHIV. Our commitment includes making HIV/AIDS testing more inclusive. We strive to provide comprehensive and compassionate care by focusing on patients' needs, preferences, and expectations.
Dra. Leilanie C. Barrios, MD
Dr. Barrios is a board-certified Medical Doctor with 13 years of clinical experience specializing in HIV/AIDS treatment and management. She is the founder of DRSTMH HIV/AIDS Treatment Hub (HANTOP Wellness Center) and is also the Chairman of DRSTMH HIV/AIDS Committee. She is a member of International Association of providers of AIDS Care (IAPAC), Philippine Medical Association (PMA), and Aklan Medical Society (AMS). She is a graduate of Doctor of Medicine at Iloilo Doctors College of Medicine and Bachelor of Science major in Biology at University of St. La Salle Bacolod City. She provides client centered care that is focused on client’s health that needs preferences and expectation upholding dignity & respect.
